The surrounding Berwickshire countryside has lots to offer :-

Fishing on the River Whiteadder and the River Tweed. (Permits can be obtained locally).

Golf - there are many courses in the area (Duns, http://www.dunsgolfclub.com  which is 5 mins drive. 

Other courses are in easy reach within 30 minutes drive, they include, Eyemouth, Coldstream, Dunbar, Goswick and further afield The Roxburghe at Kelso. 

Cycling - wonderful routes around Berwickshire and the coast

Motocross -  at Langton Lees, Duns. http://www.dunsmotocross.co.uk 

Southern Upland Way passes close by. (from Longformacus to Cockburnspath) Pick-ups can be arranged.

Country Houses to visit include Manderston, Mellerstain, Paxton and Floors Castle.
